SUKALip
INTRODUCTION
Biological molecules that are insoluble in aqueous solutions and soluble in organic solvents are classified as lipids. Fats and oils are made from two kinds of molecules: glycerol (a type of alcohol with a hydroxyl group on each of its three carbons) and three fatty acids joined by dehydration synthesis. Since there are three fatty acids attached, these are known as triglycerides.
DESCRIPTION
SUKALip is a lipase enzyme preparation obtained from the submerged fermentation of a high lipase-producing microbial strain. It is widely used in food, feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, detergents, wastewater treatment and pulp and paper making industries.
WORKING MECHANISM
Lipase is an enzyme necessary for the absorption and digestion of nutrients by microorganisms and higher organisms. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down lipids (fats), in particular triglycerides into diglycerides, monoglycerides, free fatty acids and glycerol.
PROPERTIES
SUKALip provides maximal benefit at pH 5.5-10.5 and at the temperature of 30-45 Degree.
SPECIFICATION
SUKALip is available in solid preparation as:
SUKALip PW 10 (with enzyme activity of 10,000 U/g)
Unit definition: The amount of enzyme needed to liberate 1 umole fatty acid from triglyceride in one minute at specified conditions.
APPLICATION GUIDE
For the paper making industry, SUKALip is added based on the instructions of the technicians.
PACKAGING
SUKALip is packaged in 25 kg/plastic drum.
Alternative packaging is available upon request for smaller or larger volumes.
STORAGE
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
SUKALip is non-toxic and biodegradable. However, unnecessary contact with the product should be avoided. Long term exposure to protein based products such as SUKALip may sensitize certain individuals to the product. Wash hands with warm soapy water after handling. Keep out of reach of children.
